Big Eye Observer app for iPhone and iPad

Big Eye Observer© is a versatile tool designed for common and advanced behavioral observation applications. These include recording the count, frequency, and duration of events; and conducting partial- and total-interval observations for clinical and research purposes. The Big Eye Observer© observation keypad can record up to 12 independent event types with unique labels and behavior dimensions. The app incorporates in-session functionalities such as time-stamped audio and text notes, session and interval timers, just-recorded event removal, and session pausing functions. Big Eye Observer© features a range of pre-session sound and vibration cueing options that facilitate synchronizing the start of the observation session among multiple observers—ideal for interobserver agreement recordings! The user may also set end-of-interval and end-of-session sound and vibration cues to free up the observer during busy sessions. An additional feature enabling multiple observers is the facility to share observation keypad templates via email. The app integrates advanced functionalities for data archiving and management: once an observation session has ended, the user has access to a data summary and a full data output ready for email export. The app’s archive seamlessly organizes your data outputs by client name and session date. While not intended for data analysis, Big Eye Observer© offers a basic conditional probability function capable of associating responses regardless of their dimension (for example, duration vs. frequency) during descriptive analyses and naturalistic observations.
